About the Role:
Grey Soul Coffee Roasters is looking for a passionate and skilled Baker to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, hygiene, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake breads, croissants, muffins, cookies, cakes, pastries, and other bakery products as per company recipes and standards.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately.
- Operate bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ensure all bakery products meet presentation and taste standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery area at all times.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory of bakery ingredients and report shortages.
- Minimize wastage and ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
- Assist in developing new bakery items and seasonal menus.
- Coordinate with kitchen and café teams to ensure timely production and delivery.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and bakery equipment.
- Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Bakery & Confectionery, Hotel Management, or a related field.
- Experience working in cafés, artisan bakeries, or restaurants.
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Handling hot equipment and heavy ingredients.
