Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Costing Engineer to join our Costing Department at our Chinchwad location. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in product costing within stamping and pressing operations. The role involves preparing cost estimates, analyzing manufacturing costs, and supporting quotation preparation for new and existing components.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed product cost sheets for stamping and pressing components.
Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM), raw material consumption, and manufacturing processes for accurate costing.
Perform RFQ costing and quotation preparation for new customer enquiries.
Evaluate tooling, stamping, and pressing process costs including cycle time, material utilization, and scrap factors.
Coordinate with design, production, tooling, and procurement teams to gather costing inputs.
Conduct cost variance analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.
Maintain and update standard costing data, material prices, and process costs in ERP systems.
Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
Prepare costing reports and support management in pricing decisions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
3–4 years of experience in product costing in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in stamping and pressing component costing is mandatory.
Strong understanding of sheet metal processes, tooling, and manufacturing cost structures.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar preferred).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
