Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Node.js Backend Developer with at least 1 year of experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building scalable backend applications, RESTful APIs, database management, and integrating third-party services. You will work closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers to build robust web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, authentication, and cloud services.
- Work with databases such as MongoDB (Prefred), MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
- Participate in code reviews and follow best development practices.
- Maintain proper documentation for APIs and backend modules.
Required Skills
- 1+ year of hands-on experience in Node.js development.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Express.js or NestJS.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and API security.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
- Understanding of JWT Authentication and Role-Based Access Control.
- Experience in integrating third-party APIs.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Understanding of Docker is an advantage.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Socket.IO or WebSockets.
- Knowledge of Redis or caching mechanisms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
