The Field Quality - Civil professional is responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering and construction activities adhere to the highest quality standards, project specifications, regulatory requirements, and approved designs. This role involves extensive on-site presence, meticulous inspection, and rigorous documentation to prevent defects and ensure the structural integrity and longevity of civil infrastructure projects.
- Conduct regular and thorough site inspections of civil works, including earthworks, concrete pouring, structural steel erection, road construction, and utility installations, to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor and oversee the execution of construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved method statements, drawings, and quality assurance plans.
- Perform and/or supervise material testing, including concrete slump tests, cylinder sampling, soil compaction tests, aggregate analysis, and rebar inspections, ensuring proper procedures are followed and results meet specified criteria.
- Identify, document, and report any non-conformances, deviations, or quality deficiencies observed during construction, and collaborate with project managers and contractors to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and approve contractor's quality control plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material submittals to ensure they align with project requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports, inspection logs, checklists, and photographic documentation of all quality-related activities and findings.
- Liaise effectively with project teams, contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities on all quality matters, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of quality management systems and processes.
- Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Maintain a detailed record of all quality documentation, including test results, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports, for traceability and audit purposes.
