Job Summary
The F&B Captain is responsible for supervising daily restaurant and banquet service operations, ensuring excellent guest satisfaction, maintaining service standards, and leading the service team to deliver a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of F&B service staff during shifts.
- Ensure smooth and efficient restaurant, room service, and banquet operations.
- Welcome guests and ensure prompt, courteous, and professional service.
- Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints effectively.
- Assist in table allocation and service planning.
- Conduct daily briefings and assign duties to team members.
- Monitor staff grooming, hygiene, attendance, and discipline.
- Ensure proper setup of restaurant and banquet areas before service.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food delivery.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Train and guide junior staff on service standards and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels of operating supplies and report shortages.
- Ensure accurate billing and proper use of POS systems.
- Support upselling initiatives to increase food and beverage revenue.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Food & Beverage Service.
- At least 1 year of experience as an F&B Captain or Senior GSA.
- Experience in a star hotel is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team-handling abilities.
- Knowledge of restaurant, buffet, and banquet service operations.
- Familiarity with POS billing systems.
