Key job responsibilities
Execute & Validate
- Execute test cases. Write and maintain black box test cases with some guidance — including crafting effective prompts and evaluation criteria for Gen AI-powered features (LLM outputs, recommendations, conversational experiences).
- Drill down on ambiguous task requests (new features/use cases) into clear work instructions through first-pass execution or training from QA, helping the team start testing without hiccups.
- Reproduce errant product behavior to assist developers or other testers. Identify, track, and accurately report defects with good reproducible reports — steps to repro, logs, clear actual vs. expected results, and helpful title/summary. Verify fixed bugs are truly fixed.
Technical & Infrastructure
- Install and configure software, use debug settings. Gather logs, traces, and relevant artifacts to enrich bug reports when provided detailed instructions.
- Execute and verify results of existing automated tests. Manage and scale lab infrastructure based on project needs.
- Maintain basic understanding of the automation framework to initiate, manage, and maintain automation runs per defined schedule/SLA.
AI-Augmented Testing & Analysis
- Leverage Gen AI tools to accelerate test case generation, identify edge cases, and improve test coverage — while applying judgment to validate AI-suggested scenarios against real user behavior across emerging markets.
- Perform defect analysis and help prioritize/escalate issues within your scope. Analyze automation failures by isolating script vs. product failures.
- Give feedback on automation needs, coverage gaps, and quality of test instructions. Act as a catalyst for process sustenance and simplification.
Initiative & Simplification
- Develop simple tools/utilities (including AI-assisted ones) that improve project metrics — productivity, defect leakage, and quality in owned test areas.
- Identify repetitive workflows and propose simplification through scripting, AI-assisted triage, or process improvements.
- Help improve stakeholder communication processes — concise reporting, better signal-to-noise in status updates.
