About the Role
A Growth Specialist is a data-driven professional focused on driving scalable, sustainable business growth. They work across marketing, product, sales, and analytics to optimize the entire customer lifecycle
This role is common in startups, scale-ups, SaaS, e-commerce, and tech companies where rapid experimentation and measurable results are prioritized over traditional marketing approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute growth strategies focused on user/customer acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and referral programs.
- Design, launch, and optimize multi-channel campaigns (paid ads, SEO, content marketing, email, social media, viral loops, etc.).
- Conduct A/B testing, multivariate experiments, and data analysis to identify high-impact opportunities and iterate quickly.
- Analyze key metrics and funnels (conversion rates, CAC, LTV, churn, engagement) using tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or HubSpot.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to align on growth initiatives and implement product-led growth tactics.
- Identify market trends, customer segments, and competitive insights to inform strategy.
- Build reports, dashboards, and performance insights to track ROI and recommend optimizations.
- Experiment with creative/low-cost growth hacks while scaling proven channels.
- Manage budget allocation for growth experiments and campaigns.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2–5+ years in growth marketing, digital marketing, performance marketing, or related roles (less for junior positions, more for senior).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in analytics tools (Google Analytics, SQL preferred, Amplitude, etc.).
- Experience with advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools (Optimizely, VWO, or similar).
- Knowledge of marketing automation (HubSpot, Marketo) and CRM systems.
Core Competencies:
- Data-driven decision making with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Creativity and comfort with rapid experimentation and failure.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills (to present insights to stakeholders).
- T-shaped skill set: deep expertise in a few areas (e.g., paid acquisition or retention) with broad knowledge across growth levers.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in startups or high-growth environments.
- Background in product growth, SEO, content virality, or referral programs.
- Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, Zapier) or basic coding for growth experiments.
