Role Overview
The Quality Head is a senior leadership position responsible for building, owning, and continuously improving the end-to-end quality function at Grammy Electronics. This includes Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Process Quality Control (PQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC). The Quality Head will report directly to management and will be the single point of accountability for all quality outcomes on the shop floor.
This is not a supervisory role in name only — the Quality Head is expected to build systems, write and enforce SOPs, lead a small quality team, and make independent quality decisions that directly affect production output and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality System Ownership
- Design, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Write, review, and enforce SOPs, work instructions, and inspection checklists for IQC, PQC, and OQC stages
- Maintain all quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance documentation
Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
- Define and enforce acceptance criteria for all incoming raw materials and components (~900+ SKUs)
- Lead the IQC inspection process; raise and track Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) for non-conforming material
- Collaborate with the Purchase team on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and vendor quality ratings
Process Quality Control (PQC)
- Monitor in-process quality checkpoints across the production line
- Identify recurring defects, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Work closely with the Production team to reduce rework and rejection rates
Outgoing Quality Control (OQC)
- Define and enforce final product release criteria
- Ensure zero-defect dispatch; hold authority to stop dispatch if quality standards are not met
- Maintain product-wise inspection records and OQC sign-off documentation
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a quality team (inspectors + helpers)
- Set clear KPIs for team members; conduct regular performance reviews
- Build a quality-first culture on the shop floor
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate weekly and monthly quality MIS reports for management
- Track key metrics: defect rate, rejection rate, CAPA closure rate, customer complaints, cost of poor quality (COPQ)
- Present quality performance data in management review meetings
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a quality function within a consumer electronics manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with IQC, PQC, and OQC processes in an electronics assembly or manufacturing setup
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 — implementation experience preferred, not just awareness
- Proficient in root cause analysis tools: 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA
- Familiarity with electronic components, PCBs, SMT/THT assembly, and finished goods inspection
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets for quality data tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as Quality Head or Senior Quality Inspector in a consumer electronics company
- Experience working with B2B or OEM/ODM manufacturing clients
- Knowledge of BIS or other product compliance standards for consumer electronics
- Exposure to ERP-based quality modules

Work Location & Conditions

- 6-day work week standard for manufacturing operations
- Candidates based in or willing to relocate to Mahatpur or within 10 km of PIN 174315 strongly preferred
Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
