Job Responsibilities
- Operate Conventional Surface Grinding machines for precision grinding operations.
- Set up and operate the machine according to job requirements and specifications.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Perform grinding operations to achieve required dimensions and surface finish.
- Select and dress grinding wheels as per material and job requirements.
- Set and adjust machine parameters for accurate grinding.
- Perform in-process inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic grinding and machine-related issues.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and proper working condition.
- Follow production schedules, quality procedures, and workplace safety requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Conventional Surface Grinder.
- Strong knowledge of surface grinding operations and machine setup.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Knowledge of grinding wheels, wheel dressing, and surface finishing.
- Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work with tight tolerances and maintain quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical, Machinist, Fitter, or related technical qualification.
