We are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer 5+ years of experience who can independently manage projects from concept development to design coordination and site execution.
Job Summary
We are looking for a creative, technically strong and responsible Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience.
The ideal candidate should be able to independently handle interior projects, understand client requirements, develop designs, prepare technical drawings, coordinate with vendors and site teams, and ensure that the final execution matches the approved design.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of projects rather than only assist senior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand client requirements, lifestyle, budget and design expectations.
- Develop creative and practical interior design concepts.
- Prepare space planning, furniture layouts and design presentations.
- Create mood boards, material selections and colour schemes.
- Prepare detailed working drawings for execution.
- Prepare and coordinate:
- Furniture layouts
- Ceiling layouts
- Electrical layouts
- Flooring layouts
- Wall elevations
- Kitchen drawings
- Wardrobe and furniture details
- Joinery details
- Other site execution drawings
- Develop 3D models and presentations as required.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, carpenters and site teams.
- Conduct site visits and understand actual site conditions.
- Check measurements and ensure drawings are practical for execution.
- Resolve design and site-related issues independently.
- Coordinate material selection, finishes, hardware, furniture and lighting.
- Track project progress and ensure work is completed according to approved designs.
- Handle design revisions based on client and site requirements.
- Maintain design quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Take complete ownership of assigned projects from concept to execution.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Interior Design.
- Strong experience in residential interiors; commercial experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of space planning and interior detailing.
- Excellent knowledge of materials, finishes, laminates, veneers, acrylic, glass, hardware, lighting, etc.
- Strong understanding of furniture and modular design.
- Good knowledge of interior construction and site execution.
- Ability to independently prepare working drawings.
- Strong client communication and presentation skills.
- Good vendor and contractor coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to manage projects independently.
- Good attention to detail and quality.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant interior design experience.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp & 3D visualization.
- Good understanding of materials, furniture, space planning & execution.
- Strong communication, client handling and site coordination skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects from design to execution.
- Strong portfolio and practical knowledge of interior projects preferred.
Software Skills – Must Have
- AutoCAD – Strong
- SketchUp – Strong
- V-Ray / Enscape / Lumion – Working knowledge
- Photoshop – Working knowledge
- MS Office / PowerPoint
Candidates with strong technical drawing and 3D visualization skills will be preferred.
