General Surgeon – Roles & Responsibilities
- Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and determine the need for surgical intervention.
- Review patients’ medical history, clinical findings, and diagnostic reports to plan appropriate surgical treatment.
- Evaluate and counsel patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, expected outcomes, benefits, and associated risks.
- Perform general surgical procedures to treat injuries, diseases, deformities, and other conditions while adhering to established medical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Perform endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic) such as Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, including identification, assessment, and management of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Perform and assist in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgical procedures while following accepted surgical protocols and patient safety standards.
- Follow established surgical techniques and maintain high standards of safety and quality during all operative procedures.
- Prescribe and manage pre-operative and post-operative treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
- Ensure sterility and adherence to infection control protocols in operation theatres and endoscopy suites.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical and endoscopic procedures, identifying and managing any complications.
- Coordinate with anesthetists, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in emergency and trauma surgical care and provide timely intervention in critical situations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, surgical notes, procedure documentation, and discharge summaries.
- Plan and execute disease prevention, screening, and health promotion programs, including gastrointestinal health awareness initiatives.
- Conduct follow-up consultations and monitor patient recovery and long-term outcomes after surgery or endoscopic procedures.
- Participate in clinical audits, continuous medical education, research activities, and initiatives to improve surgical practices and patient outcomes.
- Uphold patient dignity, confidentiality, and ethical medical practices in accordance with hospital policies and professional guidelines.
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per month
