ABOUT THE ROLE
Holzbox Modular Furnitures LLP is looking for an AutoCAD Draftsman with practical knowledge of modular furniture and interior detailing.
The person will be responsible for Site measurements, preparing accurate AutoCAD drawings, understanding furniture standards and dimensions, preparing site measurement reports, and coordinating with the Production Drawings Team to ensure that site information is accurately converted into production-ready requirements.
The ideal candidate should have both good AutoCAD skills and practical understanding of how furniture is measured, designed, manufactured, and installed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Site Measurement
- Visit project sites to take accurate measurements for modular furniture requirements.
- Measure walls, rooms, openings, columns, beams, levels, and other site conditions relevant to furniture installation.
- Record site dimensions systematically and accurately.
- Identify site conditions that may affect furniture design, manufacturing, or installation.
- Verify critical dimensions wherever required before drawings are finalized.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and project teams during measurement visits.
2. AutoCAD Drafting
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings based on site measurements and design requirements.
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, furniture details, and other drawings required for modular furniture manufacturing.
- Convert site measurements and design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
- Ensure drawings contain correct dimensions, levels, materials, and relevant construction details.
- Make revisions to drawings based on design, site, or production requirements.
- Maintain proper drawing versions and records.
3. Furniture Standards & Technical Understanding
- Have a practical understanding of standard furniture dimensions and ergonomics, including typical heights, widths, depths, clearances, and installation requirements.
- Understand basic modular furniture construction and detailing.
- Understand how furniture dimensions need to be adapted based on actual site conditions.
- Identify dimensional or technical issues before drawings are released to production.
- Coordinate with the Production Drawings Team to clarify technical requirements.
4. Site Reports & Documentation
- Prepare clear site measurement reports and presentations in PowerPoint.
- Document site conditions using photographs, measurements, observations, and relevant drawings.
- Highlight deviations, constraints, and important site information.
- Share updated site reports with the concerned Design and Production Drawings Teams.
- Maintain organized records of site measurements and project documentation.
5. Coordination with Production Drawings Team
- Communicate site measurements and requirements clearly to the Production Drawings Team.
- Provide all necessary information required to prepare production drawings.
- Respond to queries from the production/design team regarding site conditions and measurements.
- Update drawings and information based on feedback from the production team.
- Ensure critical site information is communicated before production drawings are finalized.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- The candidate will primarily be evaluated on:
- Accuracy of site measurements
- Accuracy and quality of AutoCAD drawings
- Understanding and application of furniture standards
- Timely submission of drawings and site reports
- Accuracy of information communicated to the Production Drawings Team
- Reduction of errors caused by incorrect measurements or drawings
- Timely incorporation of revisions
- Quality and organization of project documentation
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Prior experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman , preferably in:
- Modular furniture
- Furniture manufacturing
- Interior contracting
- Interior design
- Architecture
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Practical experience in taking site measurements
- Good understanding of standard furniture dimensions, heights, widths, depths, and clearances.
- Basic understanding of modular furniture manufacturing and installation.
- Ability to read and understand architectural/interior drawings.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work with multiple projects and drawing revisions.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Can independently visit a site and take accurate measurements.
- Understands that a small measurement error can result in a major production or installation problem.
- Has a good eye for dimensions and furniture proportions.
- Can identify site issues that may affect manufacturing.
- Is organized with drawings, measurements, photographs, and reports.
- Communicates clearly with the Production Drawings and Design Teams.
- Takes ownership of the accuracy of the information provided to production.
- Is willing to learn and develop a deeper understanding of modular furniture manufacturing.
IMPORTANT
This role is not limited to preparing AutoCAD drawings.
The person will be expected to understand the complete flow:
SITE MEASUREMENT → SITE REPORT → AUTOCAD DRAWING → PRODUCTION DRAWING TEAM →MANUFACTURING
Accuracy at the site-measurement and drafting stage is critical because errors can directly lead to wrong production, material wastage, rework, and installation delays
COMPENSATION
CTC: Up to ₹30,000 per month , based on relevant experience, AutoCAD proficiency, site measurement skills, and practical knowledge of modular furniture.
