An entry-level Commis Chef (Continental) is an apprentice position focused on learning foundational kitchen skills, executing basic food preparation, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness under the supervision of a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Station Setup: Organize and prep the assigned workstation (Mise-en-place) before service begins.
- Basic Prep: Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, meats, and seafood for continental dishes.
- Simple Cooking: Assist in preparing basic items like stocks, elementary sauces, and simple salads.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Clean work surfaces, sanitize utensils, and ensure proper storage of food ingredients.
- Stock Rotation: Receive deliveries, check ingredient freshness, and practice first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation.
Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen (internships or traineeships count)
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
