Job Summary
The Plant Incharge is responsible for the overall management of manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, maintenance effectiveness, and cost control. The role requires leadership of production, maintenance, quality, stores, and dispatch functions to achieve optimum plant performance and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum resource utilization.
- Monitor plant productivity, efficiency, and machine utilization.
- Minimize production losses, wastage, and downtime.
- Ensure uninterrupted production through effective coordination with maintenance and stores teams.
Quality Control
- Ensure all products meet specified quality standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor raw material quality and finished product testing.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Reduce rejection, breakage, and customer complaints.
Plant Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure availability and reliability of production equipment.
- Monitor maintenance costs and spare parts inventory.
- Improve equipment performance and plant uptime.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Implement and maintain 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Promote a zero-accident work culture.
Inventory & Stores Management
- Monitor consumption of cement, aggregates, fly ash, chemicals, pigments, and other raw materials.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of raw materials and consumables.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability.
- Control inventory losses and wastage.
Dispatch & Logistics
- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Monitor loading operations and dispatch documentation.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise production, maintenance, quality, and stores personnel.
- Manage manpower planning, shift allocation, and attendance.
- Train and develop plant employees on SOPs, quality, and safety.
- Drive performance improvement and team engagement.
Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor manufacturing costs and operational expenses.
- Implement productivity improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process optimization.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Reporting
- Prepare daily production, maintenance, quality, and dispatch reports.
- Monitor KPIs and present performance reports to management.
- Maintain all plant records and statutory documentation.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in building materials manufacturing
Pay: From ₹18,000.00 per month
