We are looking for a skilled and detailed-oriented Injection Molding Machine Operator to join our production team in Rabale, Navi Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic injection molding machines to ensure production targets and quality standards are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Setup, operate, and monitor automatic and semi-automatic plastic injection molding machines according to production schedules.
- Material Handling: Prepare, load, and mix raw plastic materials (resins, masterbatches, colorants) into hoppers and material dryers.
- Quality & Inspection: Perform periodic visual inspection of molded parts for defects (e.g., flash, shrinkage, short shots, sink marks) using basic measuring tools (vernierm micrometer).
- Troubleshooting: Identify and make basic parameter adjustments (temperature, pressure, cycle time) to fix minor molding defects and minimize machine downtime.
- Secondary Operations: Trim, deburr, gate-cut, assemble, and package finished plastic components as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform routine daily maintenance (cleaning molds, clearing jams, lubricating parts) and maintain 5S cleanliness around the workstation.
- Documentation: Maintain daily production logs, rejection records, and material usage reports accurately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: ITI (Fitter / Plastic Processing / Tool & Die) or Diploma in Mechanical / Plastic Engineering preferred. SSC/HSC passed candidates with strong hands-on experience will also be considered.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience operating plastic injection molding machines (experience with brands like Windsor, Toshiba, Engel, L&T, or Ferromatik is a plus).
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of raw materials (PP, ABS, Nylon, Polycarbonate, etc.), mold mounting, and temperature setting.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical movement, stand for extended periods during shift hours, and lift materials/molds up to 15–20 kg when required.
