Responsibilities and duties
- Inventory management: Accurately maintain and update the warehouse's inventory database in real-time, which includes tracking inward and outward stock movements.
- Data input: Enter data from various sources, such as shipping manifests, receiving reports, and physical counts, into the company's system with speed and accuracy.
- Data verification and correction: Cross-reference data with physical and digital records to identify and correct any errors or discrepancies.
- Record keeping: Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for easy retrieval of information.
- Reporting: Generate reports and summaries on inventory levels and other data as requested by management.
- Data security: Perform regular data backups to prevent loss and ensure data integrity.
- Support: Provide assistance to warehouse and other staff with data-related questions and tasks.
- Documentation: Handle office documentation and support shipment creation and follow-up processes.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Experience: Previous experience in data entry, logistics, or a similar administrative role is beneficial.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in data entry software and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is essential. Experience with specific warehouse management software, such as SAP, may be a requirement.
- Typing: Excellent typing speed and accuracy are necessary.
- Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy is crucial to prevent errors in inventory and records.
- Organizational skills: Strong organizational skills are needed to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Communication: Good written and oral communication skills are important for collaborating with other team members.
