Mechanical Fitter Job Description:-
A Mechanical Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical components and machinery according to technical specifications. They use hand tools, precision instruments, and machinery to fit parts accurately, perform adjustments, and ensure proper operation. The role involves inspecting equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to support production. Mechanical Fitters help maintain reliable and efficient machinery operation while adhering to safety standards. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical components, machinery, and equipment according to technical drawings and specifications
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose mechanical faults using hand tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic equipment
- Replace, adjust, or align components such as gears, bearings, shafts, and hydraulic systems as required
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and operators to identify recurring mechanical issues and implement solutions
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and assembly activities for reporting and compliance
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Assist in the fabrication or modification of mechanical parts and assemblies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, parts, and equipment
- Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills
Mechanical Fitter Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, or fitting
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and assembly techniques
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently
- Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in assembly, alignment, and documentation of maintenance activities
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Communication: Effective verbal and written skills for collaborating with team members, engineers, and supervisors
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
