- Design, build, configure, and maintain:
- Oncology PowerPlans
- Chemotherapy order sets
- Infusion therapy workflows
- Supportive care protocols
- Radiation and specialty oncology workflows
- Configure:
- Medication regimens
- Cycle-based treatment plans
- Dose calculations
- Sequencing and scheduling logic
- Maintain standardized evidence-based oncology treatment protocols.
Clinical Workflow Optimization
- Support oncology workflows including:
- Medical oncology
- Hematology/oncology
- Infusion center operations
- Chemotherapy administration
- Supportive care management
- Collaborate with physicians and pharmacists to optimize chemotherapy ordering workflows.
- Improve patient safety and treatment accuracy through standardized order design.
CPOE & Medication Safety
- Configure medication ordering workflows with:
- Dose range checking
- Allergy interactions
- Clinical decision support alerts
- Protocol-specific validation rules
- Ensure compliance with oncology medication safety standards.
- Support double-verification and treatment authorization workflows.
Testing & Validation
- Perform:
- Unit testing
- Integrated testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression testing
- Validate:
- Chemotherapy cycle logic
- Infusion timing
- Medication sequencing
- Oncology protocol accuracy
- Support upgrades, package deployments, and production migrations.
Production Support
- Provide Level 2/3 support for oncology PowerPlans and ordering workflows.
- Troubleshoot chemotherapy order issues, infusion workflow disruptions, and clinical build defects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate issue resolution.
- Participate in on-call support where required.
Clinical Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Oncologists
- Pharmacists
- Infusion nursing teams
- Clinical informatics
- Revenue cycle and operational stakeholders
- Participate in oncology governance and treatment protocol review meetings.
- Maintain build documentation, workflow diagrams, and testing evidence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, Pharmacy, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience supporting Oracle Health / Cerner clinical applications.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oncology PowerPlans
- Chemotherapy order set configuration
- CPOE workflows
- Strong understanding of oncology and infusion center workflows.
- Experience supporting medication management and clinical documentation workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Oncology treatment protocols
- Chemotherapy regimen build
- Infusion scheduling workflows
- Discern rules and CCL basics
- Clinical background in oncology nursing or pharmacy preferred.
- Experience in:
- Cancer centers
- Acute care oncology environments
- Multi-site oncology programs
- Familiarity with:
- HL7 integrations
- FHIR concepts
- Oncology reporting and analytics
