Key Responsibilities
1. Nursing Administration & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day nursing activities in assigned departments.
- Ensure adequate nursing manpower deployment and appropriate nurse-patient ratios.
- Prepare and monitor duty rosters, shift allocations, and leave management.
- Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing practices and patient care standards.
- Ensure discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct among nursing staff.
- Assist the DNS/NS in the overall administration of nursing services.
2. Patient Care Management
- Ensure safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care for all patients.
- Monitor nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration, and documentation.
- Ensure continuity of care during shift handovers.
- Address patient and attendant grievances related to nursing services.
- Coordinate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
3. NABH Compliance & Quality Management
- Ensure implementation of NABH standards related to nursing services and patient care.
- Monitor compliance with nursing policies, SOPs, protocols, and clinical pathways.
- Participate in internal audits, quality indicators monitoring, and departmental inspections.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented for identified non-conformities.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and records at all times.
4. Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices.
- Monitor hand hygiene compliance and biomedical waste segregation.
- Participate in surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
- Ensure implementation of patient safety goals, medication safety practices, and incident reporting systems.
- Investigate nursing-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
5. Human Resource Management
- Supervise Ward In-charges and Staff Nurses.
- Participate in recruitment, orientation, induction, and retention of nursing personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and competency assessments.
- Identify training needs and coordinate continuing nursing education programs.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and promote professional development.
6. Training & Education
- Conduct nursing education sessions and skill enhancement programs.
- Ensure competency-based training for all nursing personnel.
- Assist in orientation programs for newly recruited nurses.
- Promote evidence-based nursing practices and continuous learning.
7. Resource & Inventory Management
- Ensure adequate availability of nursing supplies, consumables, and equipment.
- Monitor proper utilization of hospital resources.
- Coordinate with stores, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, housekeeping, and maintenance departments.
- Ensure safe handling and maintenance of nursing equipment.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain nursing records, reports, and quality indicator data.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly nursing reports.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of patient care documentation.
- Maintain records required for statutory and accreditation compliance.
9. Committee Participation
- Participate in:
- Infection Control Committee
- Quality Improvement Committee
- Nursing Services Committee
- Patient Safety Committee
- Biomedical Waste Management Committee
- Other hospital committees as assigned
10. Emergency & Disaster Management
- Coordinate nursing services during emergencies and disaster situations.
- Participate in mock drills and emergency preparedness programs.
- Ensure adequate nursing staffing during crisis situations.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
