Dairy Farm Supervisor – Residential Position

About the Role
We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Dairy Farm Supervisor to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our dairy farm.
The ideal candidate should be from Agriculture, Dairy Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, or related agricultural background, along with practical knowledge of dairy farm operations. The person should be capable of working independently, supervising farm activities, maintaining proper records, and ensuring the overall health, hygiene, and productivity of the dairy farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the dairy farm.
- Ensure proper feeding, watering, cleaning, milking, and general care of cattle.
- Monitor the health, behaviour, feeding patterns, and productivity of the animals.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and other professionals whenever required.
- Maintain proper schedules for vaccination, deworming, medication, breeding, and other animal-health activities.
- Monitor milk production and maintain daily milk production records.
- Ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness of the cattle shed, milking area, equipment, and surrounding farm premises.
- Supervise and coordinate farm workers and allocate daily responsibilities.
- Monitor the availability and usage of feed, fodder, medicines, equipment, and other farm requirements.
- Maintain proper stock and inventory records.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly farm reports and documentation.
- Record cattle-related information including animal details, milk yield, health records, breeding records, expenses, and other relevant data.
- Use computers for data entry, MS Excel/Google Sheets, documentation, reporting, and maintaining digital records.
- Prepare regular reports for management regarding farm operations, milk production, expenses, stock, animal health, and other relevant matters.
- Ensure that farm activities are carried out efficiently and according to established procedures.
- Identify operational issues and report them to management promptly.
- Assist management in improving farm productivity, cost efficiency, animal welfare, and overall dairy operations.
- Ensure responsible use and maintenance of farm equipment and facilities.
- Maintain discipline, cleanliness, safety, and proper work practices within the farm.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Dairy Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, or a related field preferred.
- Candidates with relevant practical dairy farm experience and an agricultural background may also be considered.
Required Skills:
- Good practical knowledge of dairy farm management and cattle care.
- Good supervisory and people-management skills.
- Comfortable working with computers.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Google Sheets, Word, and basic digital documentation.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate daily records and documentation.
- Responsible, disciplined, organised, and willing to take ownership of farm operations.
- Ability to work independently and handle day-to-day farm-related situations.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English preferred.
Residential Requirement
This is a residential position. The selected candidate will be required to stay at the farm premises and be available to supervise the dairy farm operations as required.
Food and accommodation will be provided free of cost.
Compensation
Salary: ₹20,000 per month
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, responsible, agriculturally knowledgeable, comfortable with both farm work and computer-based documentation, and capable of taking complete day-to-day responsibility for the dairy farm.
Prior experience in supervising a dairy farm or livestock operation will be an added advantage.
