We are seeking an efficient, detail-oriented PEB Production Engineer to oversee and optimize our heavy structural steel fabrication and roll-forming production lines. In this role, you will manage day-to-day workshop operations, supervise skilled technicians and welders, ensure the strict adherence to structural drawings, and hit daily/monthly tonnage targets without compromising on quality or safety.
2–4 years of experience in heavy structural steel fabrication or a PEB manufacturing plant
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Production Planning & Tonnage Execution: Execute daily and weekly production schedules based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet plant tonnage targets.
- Drawing Interpretation: Thoroughly review and interpret structural shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and bill of materials (BOM) received from the design/engineering team.
- Fabrication Supervision: Oversee the primary and secondary line manufacturing processes:
- Primary Line: Gas/plasma cutting, plate stripping, fit-up, automatic submerged arc welding (SAW) for H-beams/tapered sections, and straightening.
- Secondary Line: Cold roll-forming for C/Z purlins, roof/wall sheeting, and cladding accessories.
- Machinery Management: Manage and monitor the operation of specialized heavy machinery, including CNC plasma cutting machines, auto-welding machines, shearing and flanging machines, and shot-blasting units.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all welding and fabrication meet international structural standards (e.g., AWS, AISC). Coordinate closely with the QA/QC team to clear non-destructive testing (NDT/DP/UT tests) before painting.
- Material Tracking & Inventory: Monitor raw material consumption (steel plates, coils, welding wire) to minimize scrap and drop-off waste.
- Surface Preparation & Dispatch: Supervise shot-blasting (SA 2.5 standard) and the painting process (primer and finish coats) to prevent corrosion. Ensure proper labeling and stacking of components for safe transport.
- Team Leadership & Safety: Supervise, train, and allocate tasks to fitters, certified welders, and machine operators. Enforce absolute compliance with factory EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols
