An Assistant Therapist works under the supervision of licensed therapists (such as physical, occupational, or behavioral therapists) to implement patient care plans. They are responsible for preparing treatment areas, assisting clients through therapeutic exercises, tracking patient progress, and handling clinic administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Guide patients through prescribed exercises, mobility routines, and daily living activities.
- Plan Implementation: Execute specific treatment components outlined by the lead therapist.
- Observation & Documentation: Monitor patient responses during sessions, record progress, and maintain accurate clinical notes.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the therapy space is sanitized, equipment is properly set up, and supplies are well-stocked.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, answer patient queries, and aid in front desk operations when needed.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or a related field.
- Empathy & Patience: Ability to build rapport, encourage patients, and remain calm when working with individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges.
- Communication: Clear, constructive communication skills to interact with patients, family members, and the senior therapy team.
- Physical Stamina: The role often requires standing for long periods, bending, and assisting patients with physical transfers or lifting.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
