Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with prior experience in the construction industry to oversee general accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and support financial reporting and statutory compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting project-based accounting and strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
-Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
-Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
-Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.
-Handle project-wise accounting, cost tracking, and reconciliation for construction projects.
-Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
-Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
-Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
-Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements.
-Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
-Participate in process improvements and system implementations.
-Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory regulations, and other financial requirements applicable to the construction industry.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master's preferred).
-CPA/CA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
-Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a construction or infrastructure company.
-Strong understanding of project accounting, contractor billing, and construction finance.
-Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
-High attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical ability.
