Aura Smart is a security and building systems company.
We're now building our own Linux-based AI video recorder. It replaces the dumb box sitting under a customer's existing cameras and makes the footage actually useful — the shop owner opens his phone and finds out someone was at his back gate at 2am, instead of scrubbing through eight hours of nothing. Customers pay for AI analysis from a prepaid wallet.
The role
You'd be the first engineer on the product. Not on a team of twenty — the second. You'll work directly with the founder on:
- Linux backend services: device provisioning, event pipeline, AI job queue
- The prepaid wallet — metering, ledger, reconciliation (this is where customers' money lives)
- Making the platform stable enough that we stop firefighting
- A Swift and Kotlin Native app for iOS and Android
- Internal tools: a CRM portal for our sales team, built fast
You will touch things you haven't done before. Video streaming, WebRTC, Linux devices in the field. We'll expect you to learn them.
What we're looking for
Required:
- Linux Ubuntu System, Node.js and PostgreSQL — you've built and shipped something real, not just followed a tutorial
- Xcode or Android Studio
- Comfort with Git, Docker, and the command line
- You can explain a decision you made and what you'd do differently
Nice to have:
- Redis, queues, background workers
- React Native or Expo
- FFmpeg, RTSP, WebRTC, or any video work
- Anything you've deployed and had actual users complain about
Pay: ₹380,435.24 - ₹1,633,263.33 per year
