Role Overview
The Director – Sports will lead the institution's physical education and sports development programs, building a competitive sports culture and managing both infrastructure and inter-institutional participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the institution's overall sports calendar including inter-collegiate, university, and national-level events.
- Oversee sports infrastructure — grounds, courts, gymnasiums, and equipment — including maintenance and procurement.
- Develop and coach students in various sports disciplines; identify and support talented athletes.
- Coordinate with Anna University, AIU, and national sports bodies for competitions, registrations, and recognition.
- Organize sports meets, fitness programs, yoga sessions, and wellness initiatives for students and staff.
- Recruit, manage, and train physical education faculty and sports coaches.
Eligibility
- PhD or M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education) from a reputed university; PhD preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience managing sports programs in a university or higher education institution.
- Strong knowledge of AIU norms, inter-collegiate competitions, and national sports schemes.
- Demonstrated track record of building winning teams and institutional sports culture.
- Good communication skills in English.
Key Conditions
- Candidates from West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and North-East states will not be considered.
- Minimum 3-year written commitment mandatory.
