Job Purpose
The QC Welding Engineer is responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control, covering project material testing, quality document reviews, QAP document preparation, and QMS documentation. The role involves field inspection and tight control over execution activities during the site execution and handover stages. The successful candidate will manage projects to execute and inspect site activities alongside the client to secure approvals for subsequent stages, checking major activities thoroughly to eliminate errors and facilitate on-time project progression.Duties and Responsibilities
- Review piping test packages for revised P&ID markups and isometric drawings with designated test limits.
- Review tenders and contracts specifically for quality, welding, and NDE requirements.
- Advise on contract requirements for all quality control related activities.
- Develop, issue, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Wall Planners.
- Coordinate inspection parties and arrange inspection times and locations.
- Monitor field fabrication, installation, testing, and reinstallation activities to ensure adherence to project quality requirements.
- Perform inspections in strict accordance with the ITP for all piping activities.
- Identify, record, and monitor the disposal of site non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
- Prepare pressure test packages for all piping systems, including marked-up P&IDs and isometric drawings with test limits.
- Witness critical activities, including internal cleaning of piping, hydrotests, bolt torquing, and the re-installation of piping.
- Review tie-in packages, prepare and witness testing, and verify bolt torquing for tie-ins.
- Prepare comprehensive test reports, check-lists, and quality control records after testing is completed.
- Collect data and report on quality control statistics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
- Certifications: Valid CSWIP 3.2 certification (valid until 2029). Aramco CBT Approval is mandatory.
- Experience: 6 to 10 years of total experience as a QC Piping/Welding Engineer in the oil and gas field, specifically for Turnaround (TA) & Shutdown (SD) projects. Tank welding experience is considered an additional advantage.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Working Schedule: Mandatory 6 days per week, 10 hours per day.
- Overtime: Weekdays are not eligible for overtime payment. Fridays require a minimum of 8 hours to be eligible for overtime compensation.
- Flexibility: Additional work hours are expected as required for project completion. Urgent client or project correspondence is mandatory without specific time limitations.
- Physical & Mental Resilience: Must be able to handle stress effectively and work extended hours under high-pressure environments.
