Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for civil construction and interior fit-out projects. The role involves preparing project timelines, tracking progress, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring projects are completed within the planned schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project schedules using MS Project or Primavera.
- Develop project work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity plans.
- Monitor project progress and compare actual progress against planned schedules.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Coordinate with execution, procurement, design, and commercial teams for project planning.
- Identify delays, risks, and critical activities and recommend corrective actions.
- Track manpower, material, and equipment requirements as per project schedules.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of activities.
- Prepare recovery plans for delayed activities.
- Support project budgeting and resource allocation.
- Maintain project documentation and planning records.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide planning updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in civil construction and interior fit-out projects.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of project execution methodologies.
- Knowledge of commercial interiors, corporate offices, retail, and turnkey fit-out projects.
