Job Summary
The EDM Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) machines to manufacture high-precision components, moulds, dies, and tooling. The role requires the ability to read engineering drawings, select appropriate electrodes and machining parameters, and ensure that finished parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate EDM machines according to production drawings and work instructions.
- Manufacture precision moulds, inserts, cavities, cores, and tooling components.
- Install, align, and secure workpieces and electrodes.
- Select appropriate EDM machining parameters based on material and job requirements.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Perform electrode alignment and offset adjustments.
- Measure finished components using precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect workpieces for defects, burrs, and dimensional conformity.
- Maintain dielectric fluid levels, filters, and machine cleanliness.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and report machine abnormalities.
- Minimize electrode wear and optimize machining cycle times.
- Maintain production records, inspection reports, and machine logs.
- Follow production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- ITI (Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience operating EDM machines.
- Experience in mould, die, or precision component manufacturing is preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
