About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the Shipping Industry to drive business growth, acquire new customers, and strengthen relationships with Shipping Lines, NVOCCs, Container Freight Stations (CFS), and other stakeholders within the maritime ecosystem.
This is a target-driven field sales role involving 90% travel across the assigned territory.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and acquire new business opportunities within the Shipping Industry.
- Build relationships with Shipping Lines, NVOCCs, Container Freight Stations (CFS), Port Operators, Shipping Agents, and related stakeholders.
- Generate revenue by promoting technology-driven shipping solutions and value-added services.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and emerging business opportunities.
- Develop strategic sales plans to increase market penetration and revenue.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
- Manage customer onboarding and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Conduct regular client meetings to understand operational requirements and business challenges.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to customers.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely support and effective relationship management.
- Resolve customer concerns and manage first-level escalations.
Product & Market Development
- Gather customer feedback and recommend product enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for introducing new modules and expanding existing solutions.
- Act as the voice of the customer by communicating market requirements to internal teams.
- Promote continuous product adoption among existing customers.
Reporting & Business Analysis
- Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, and market intelligence reports.
- Maintain CRM records, customer databases, and sales pipelines.
- Analyze customer trends and identify revenue opportunities.
- Present business updates and recommendations to management.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- B.E. / MBA from a reputed Tier-2 institute.
- 3–4 years of Business Development or Enterprise Sales experience within the Shipping Industry.
- Hands-on experience working with Shipping Lines, NVOCCs, Container Freight Stations (CFS), Shipping Agencies, or Port Operations.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation, container movement, and shipping business processes.
- Excellent networking and relationship management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 90% travel).
- Comfortable working in a target-oriented environment.
