Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the General Manager – Plant Head at our tractor manufacturing facility, you will lead and oversee the comprehensive daily operations spanning production, maintenance, engineering support, safety protocols, regulatory compliance, distribution, and warehousing. Working closely with the Plant General Manager or senior leadership, you will ensure that manufacturing activities align with the company's strategic goals, producing cost-effective, high-quality products efficiently and within stringent safety and sanitation standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing operational strategies that enhance plant productivity and efficiency while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Leading continuous improvement initiatives by implementing advanced manufacturing practices, innovative technologies, and quality management systems to optimize operational performance.
Directing the hiring, training, development, and performance management of plant personnel to build a skilled, motivated, and cohesive workforce committed to excellence.
Driving effective production scheduling and resource allocation to meet internal objectives and exceed customer expectations, while proactively identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks.
Managing the plant’s operational budget, including monitoring and controlling costs related to manpower, inventory, and conversion processes to ensure profitable operations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and procurement to enhance overall plant capabilities and responsiveness to market demands.
Championing a culture of accountability, safety, and sustainability that aligns with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's core leadership competencies and corporate values.

Hands-on experience with manufacturing and quality management systems such as Quality Management System (QMS) and product development platforms like MODS, enabling efficient oversight of plant operations.
A strong history of implementing new industry standards, process enhancements, and best practices that significantly improve the manufacturing facility's productivity, quality, and safety.
Expertise in capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure the plant meets current demand while preparing for future growth.
Proven ability to manage a manufacturing facility's profitability by controlling key costs including conversion, manpower, and inventory management under the P&L responsibilities.
Experience in setting up and running automated production systems, facilitating advanced manufacturing processes, and driving digitization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Robust understanding of regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and sustainability drivers, contributing to responsible and ethical manufacturing practices.
Demonstrated leadership in fostering a culture that embraces innovation, continuous improvement, and employee engagement through effective talent development and performance management.
