About Devaki Pharmacy
Devaki Pharmacy is attached to Devaki Neuropsychiatry Hospital, Amritsar, and supports OPD and IPD patients by ensuring timely availability of prescribed medicines, pharmacy billing, purchase coordination, and stock management.
We are looking for a responsible, disciplined, and trustworthy person to manage day-to-day pharmacy operations.
Role Objective
The main objective of this role is to ensure smooth pharmacy functioning, accurate medicine dispensing, proper billing, disciplined stock management, timely purchase planning, and coordination with vendors and medical representatives for better medicine availability and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pharmacy Dispensing & Billing
- Dispense medicines strictly as per doctor’s prescription.
- Ensure correct medicine, dosage, quantity, and billing.
- Handle pharmacy billing and system entries accurately.
- Coordinate OPD and IPD medicine requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
2. Stock & Inventory Management
- Maintain proper stock and inventory records.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Track fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving medicines.
- Check expiry dates regularly and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Inform management about low-stock, near-expiry, and high-value medicines.
- Assist in physical stock verification and stock audit.
3. Purchase & Vendor Coordination
- Manage day-to-day medicine purchase requirements.
- Coordinate with medical representatives and suppliers when required.
- Compare medicine prices, schemes, margins, and availability.
- Identify better vendors and better purchase rates.
- Ensure timely availability of essential and fast-moving medicines.
- Report vendor issues, shortages, price changes, and better deals to management.
4. IPD & Hospital Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for IPD medicine requirements.
- Ensure urgent medicines are arranged promptly when required.
- Maintain accuracy in IPD medicine issue, billing, and stock deduction.
- Support medicine availability for detox, psychiatric, and general IPD requirements.
5. Pharmacy Discipline & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of pharmacy shelves.
- Ensure no medicine is issued without proper billing or approval.
- No unauthorized discount, credit, or medicine issue without management permission.
- Maintain proper purchase, sales, return, and stock records.
- Follow all pharmacy and hospital policies.
Eligibility Criteria
- D.Pharma / B.Pharma preferred.
- Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of medicine stock, expiry, purchase, and billing preferred.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of medicines and pharmacy operations.
- Accuracy in dispensing, billing, and stock handling.
- Basic inventory and purchase management skills.
- Good communication with patients, doctors, nurses, suppliers, and medical representatives.
- Honest, punctual, disciplined, and responsible attitude.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accountability.

- Timely opening and closing of pharmacy.
- Daily stock and billing discipline.
- Proper reporting of stock, purchase, and vendor-related issues.
- Professional behaviour with patients, attendants, and staff.
