Job Summary
The Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of heat treatment equipment. The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability, improving machine reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for heat treatment equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot heat treatment furnaces such as Continuous Furnaces, Batch Furnaces, Sealed Quench Furnaces, Tempering Furnaces, and Annealing Furnaces.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain burners, gas trains, combustion systems, quench systems, cooling systems, and furnace controls.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, sensors, thermocouples, temperature controllers, and instrumentation.
- Ensure furnace temperature uniformity and calibration in line with customer and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with production to minimize equipment downtime and improve machine availability.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor utility systems related to heat treatment, including compressed air, cooling water, gas supply, and electrical systems.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Train technicians and junior engineers on maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate with OEMs and external vendors for major maintenance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Required Skills
10–15 years in Heat Treatment Maintenance (Automotive/Engineering Manufacturing)
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Additional certification in Industrial Maintenance or Heat Treatment is an added advantage.

- Expertise in PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
- Good understanding of electrical drawings, pneumatic circuits, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of industrial burners, combustion systems, and gas safety.
- Experience in TPM, Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Autonomous Maintenance.
- Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and Kaizen.
- Good communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
- Expertise in PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
- Good understanding of electrical drawings, pneumatic circuits, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of industrial burners, combustion systems, and gas safety.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
