About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Radiology Technician to join our veterinary team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring radiation safety, maintaining imaging equipment, and supporting veterinarians in accurate diagnosis and treatment of animal patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including Digital X-rays (Radiography) for small animals.
- Assist veterinarians during imaging procedures by safely positioning and restraining animal patients.
- Prepare patients with the support of Veterinary Assistants for radiographic examinations while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain radiology equipment in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure proper radiation protection measures are followed for patients, staff, and self.
- Capture clear diagnostic images while minimizing repeat exposures.
- Assist veterinarians in specialized imaging procedures when required.
- Maintain imaging records and upload scans to the hospital management system.
- Perform routine quality checks and coordinate preventive maintenance of radiology equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the radiology room.
- Follow infection control and hospital safety protocols.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and other clinical staff for timely diagnosis and patient care.
- Assist with sedation or anesthesia preparation for imaging procedures, when required.
- Maintain inventory of radiology consumables and report equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Technology / Medical Imaging Technology or a related field.
- Certification in Radiography or Diagnostic Imaging is preferred.
- Experience in veterinary radiology will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience in human healthcare radiology and willingness to work in veterinary healthcare may also apply.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Radiology Technician.
- Experience with Digital Radiography (DR) systems is preferred.
- Exposure to CT, MRI, Ultrasound, or Fluoroscopy will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning techniques.
- Understanding of radiation safety and regulatory compliance.
- Friendly nature with animals to handle them with care and compassion.
- Familiarity with veterinary anatomy is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in imaging.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or PACS is desirable.
