Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Tableau Pulse / AI Specialist to define, document, and enable enterprise best practices for Tableau Pulse and Tableau MCP.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Tableau Pulse, Tableau Cloud, permissions architecture, AI-ready data sources, and automation/migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document a standard best-practice approach and rollout plan for Tableau Pulse.
- Assess existing Tableau content development and publishing practices and recommend changes required for AI-ready datasets supporting Tableau Pulse and Tableau MCP.
- Inventory and document current Tableau Cloud permissions, identify security risks, and recommend a scalable permission management model.
- Assess the Tableau Cloud data source inventory.
- Build an automated approach to convert packaged data sources (.twbx/.tflx) into published data sources.
- Develop enterprise standards and documentation for both technical and business stakeholders.
- Support enablement, adoption, and governance of Tableau Pulse.
Required Experience
- 6+ years of relevant Tableau experience.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Tableau Pulse at enterprise scale, including metric definitions, subscriptions, enablement, and adoption.
- Strong knowledge of Tableau Cloud permissions architecture — projects, groups, roles, locked permissions, and row-level security.
- Experience designing AI/analytics-ready published data sources and governed/certified data standards.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau REST API / Metadata API, Python, and/or tabcmd for automation and migration.
- Strong enterprise documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Tableau MCP / Tableau AI feature exposure.
- Experience with enterprise Tableau governance and migration programs.
- Experience implementing data certification and AI-readiness frameworks.
