Summary:
As a Technology Architect, a typical day involves designing and delivering comprehensive technology Installing, configuring, and upgrading IBM MQ software and related components across various platforms like Windows, Linux, AIX, etc
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Installation, Configuration, and Migration: Installing, configuring, and upgrading IBM MQ software and related components across various platforms like Windows, Linux, AIX, etc.
Object Management: Creating and managing IBM MQ objects such as queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, and name lists.
- Security: Implementing and maintaining robust security measures, including user authentication, access controls (using tools like OAM), and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Setting up and managing high availability solutions like multi-instance queue managers or clustering for redundancy and resilience. Involved in planning and testing disaster recovery strategies.
- -Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitoring MQ systems for performance and availability issues, utilizing tools like MQ Explorer and implementing alerting mechanisms. Analyzing performance data, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing configurations for optimal performance.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnosing and resolving production issues related to MQ, collaborating with developers and other teams to ensure effective problem resolution.
Support and Collaboration: Providing technical support for MQ environments, participating in on-call rotations, and adhering to established incident and problem management processes. Collaborating with developers and system administrators to optimize messaging environments and ensure smooth operations.
- -Documentation: Developing and maintaining documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- In-depth experience with IBM MQ administration, including versions like V8 and V9.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing queue managers, queues, channels, and clusters.
- Familiarity with various operating systems like Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, etc.
- Strong understanding of messaging concepts and protocols.
- Knowledge of security concepts and protocols, including SSL and certificate management
Professional & Technical Skills:
- MQ monitoring tools like MQ Explorer.
- Dynatrace monitoring tool experience to analyze MQ issue
- Scripting abilities (e.g., shell scripting) for automating tasks.
- Experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning MQ environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Change management, Incident management, Problem management).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-Relevant certifications, such as IBM Certified System Administrator - MQ V9.1, are highly valued.
RDQM:
- Managing and maintaining RDQM configurations, which provide high availability and disaster recovery for IBM MQ queue managers.
- Experience on creating, starting, stopping, and monitoring RDQMs, as well as configuring the underlying infrastructure for replication and failover.
- Diagnosing issues with RDQM replication, failover, or resource availability.
- Resolving issues with Pacemaker configuration or resource management.
ARO ( Azure Red hat OpenShift)
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications on Azure Red Hat OpenShift.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines and manage Kubernetes clusters.
- Monitor workloads, optimize resource usage, and ensure platform security.
- Collaborate with developers to containerize applications and integrate with cloud services.
IBM CP4I
Responsibilities
- Design and implement integration solutions using IBM CP4I components (App Connect, MQ, API Connect, DataPower).
- Develop APIs and integration flows for hybrid cloud environments.
- Deploy and manage CP4I workloads on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize performance.
