Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager – Production to lead and manage all production operations at our Peddapuram manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the FMCG/Food Manufacturing Industry with a proven track record of driving productivity, quality, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end production operations to ensure achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Develop and implement production strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety standards, SOPs, and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Stores, Commercial, and HR departments for smooth plant operations.
- Monitor production planning and optimize manpower, machinery, and material utilization.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
- Analyze production performance through MIS and KPIs, implementing corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Control manufacturing costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage production scheduling to meet customer demand while minimizing downtime.
- Participate in capacity expansion, automation, and new project implementation.
- Ensure optimum utilization of resources while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
- Prepare production reports and present operational updates to senior management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline). MBA in Operations is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in Production/Manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Industry Background: Mandatory experience in the FMCG/Food Manufacturing Industry only.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing operations, quality systems, food safety standards, and plant management.
- Experience in handling large production teams and high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
