About the Role
S-Mobile LLC is a US based company operating in the online communication and phone chat space. We maintain a growing portfolio of PHP web properties and are looking for an experienced CodeIgniter developer to build, maintain, and improve them. You will work directly with our team on new features, performance, and ongoing site upkeep across several sites.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain web applications built on CodeIgniter (PHP)
- Build new pages, templates, and features from provided requirements and designs
- Write clean, well structured HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript for self contained page components
- Work with MySQL databases (queries, schema changes, optimization)
- Fix bugs, improve page speed, and handle routine maintenance across multiple sites
- Implement SEO friendly, semantic markup and clean URL structures
- Integrate third party APIs and services where needed
- Test and validate work before deployment
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of hands on PHP development experience
- Strong practical experience with the CodeIgniter framework (CI3 and CI4)
- Solid MySQL skills
- Good command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Comfortable with Git version control
- Experience with server basics: cPanel, Linux hosting, deployments
- Attention to detail and ability to follow specifications closely
- Reliable communication in English (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
- Experience with SEO focused development and Core Web Vitals
- Familiarity with page templating for multi site setups
- Basic understanding of DNS, SSL, and domain management
- Experience integrating telephony or payment APIs
