- Diploma/Certification in Transport Management or Logistics is an added advantage.
- Valid driving license preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and transport management software.
Job Summary
The Transport Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the school's transportation operations to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient movement of students and staff. The role includes fleet management, driver supervision, route planning, vehicle maintenance, statutory compliance, and transport safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Operations
- Plan and manage daily transportation schedules.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of all school buses.
- Develop and optimize bus routes for efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate transport arrangements for school events, educational trips, and special programs.
Fleet Management
- Monitor the maintenance and servicing of all school vehicles.
- Maintain vehicle fitness, insurance, pollution certificates, permits, and registration documents.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
- Monitor fuel consumption and vehicle utilization.
Driver & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate drivers and transport assistants.
- Ensure drivers follow traffic regulations and school safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain attendance, duty rosters, and performance records.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with RTO regulations and school transport guidelines.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and safety audits.
- Maintain emergency response procedures for transport-related incidents.
- Ensure GPS, CCTV, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency contact systems are functional.
Parent & School Coordination
- Address transport-related concerns from parents promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with school management regarding route changes and transport requirements.
- Maintain accurate student transport records and route allocations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain transport logs, maintenance records, fuel reports, and driver documentation.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports on transport operations.
- Monitor transport expenses and support budget planning.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and inspections.
