Job Title: Commis Chef
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and support senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes while ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as per the recipes and standards set by the kitchen.
- Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Ensure food preparation areas are clean, organized, and hygienic at all times.
- Prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning meat, and basic cooking tasks.
- Maintain quality, taste, and presentation standards of dishes.
- Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in stock rotation, storage, and inventory management.
- Work efficiently to ensure timely preparation of dishes during service.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers.
- Follow kitchen policies and assist the team whenever required.
Requirements and Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts preferred.
- 1–2 years of kitchen experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
