About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Head from the Interior Manufacturing and Modular Furniture Industry to lead and manage end-to-end factory operations, project execution coordination, production planning, quality control, dispatch management, and installation support.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling multiple ongoing projects, cross-functional team coordination, production scheduling, snag management, customer escalation handling, and ensuring timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complete factory operations for modular furniture and interior production.
- Plan and monitor production schedules based on project timelines and site requirements.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Procurement, Stores, QC, Dispatch, Installation, and Project Teams.
- Track multiple ongoing projects and ensure timely execution.
- Monitor project progress from production to installation and final handover.
- Ensure effective coordination between factory and site teams.
- Manage project snags, rectifications, and closure activities.
- Conduct regular review meetings with department heads and project teams.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per delivery commitments.
- Monitor manpower utilization and productivity across departments.
- Handle customer escalations and support project teams in issue resolution.
- Develop and implement operational processes and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Production Management
- Oversee cutting, edge banding, CNC, assembly, finishing, packing, and dispatch operations.
- Monitor production capacity and workflow planning.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machines, materials, and manpower.
- Minimize production delays, rework, and wastage.
- Improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Quality Control Management
- Establish and maintain quality standards across production processes.
- Monitor incoming material quality and production quality checkpoints.
- Ensure all products meet approved specifications and drawings.
- Reduce quality complaints and rework percentages.
- Conduct quality audits and corrective action reviews.
- Coordinate with QC teams for final inspections before dispatch.
Dispatch & Logistics Management
- Oversee dispatch planning and delivery schedules.
- Ensure materials are packed, labeled, and dispatched correctly.
- Coordinate with logistics and installation teams.
- Track delivery timelines and project-wise material movement.
- Ensure complete dispatch documentation and records are maintained.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Teams for installation schedules.
- Monitor project milestones and completion timelines.
- Ensure timely closure of snag lists and customer punch points.
- Support installation teams in resolving site-related challenges.
- Maintain project status reports and management dashboards.
Requirements
- 8–15 years of experience in Interior Manufacturing, Modular Furniture Production, or Interior Fit-Out Operations.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or operations management role.
- Strong understanding of modular furniture manufacturing processes.
- Experience in handling multiple residential and commercial interior projects.
- Knowledge of production planning, quality control, dispatch management, and project execution.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.
