Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated Assistant Professor – Cardiac Care Technology to join our academic team. The candidate will be responsible for teaching theoretical and practical aspects of Cardiac Care Technology, supervising clinical training, mentoring students, and contributing to the academic and professional development of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, demonstrations, seminars, and case discussions.
- Teach subjects related to cardiac anatomy and physiology, cardiology, ECG, cardiac monitoring, echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, critical care, and cardiovascular procedures.
- Provide hands-on training and supervise students during clinical postings.
- Demonstrate the proper use of ECG machines, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and other cardiac care equipment.
- Guide students in clinical procedures and ensure adherence to patient-safety and infection-control protocols.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, assignments, practical manuals, and examination question papers.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva voce, and student evaluations.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, clinical logbooks, and departmental documentation.
- Mentor students in academic, clinical, and professional development.
- Coordinate with hospitals and clinical departments to facilitate effective student clinical training.
- Encourage students to participate in research projects, seminars, conferences, presentations, and other academic activities.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, workshops, and institutional academic activities.
- Contribute to research, publications, and other scholarly activities where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, clinical protocols, and applicable professional standards.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. / Master's degree in Cardiac Care Technology / Cardiovascular Technology / relevant allied health sciences discipline, as applicable to institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Cardiac Care Technology or equivalent.
- Relevant teaching and/or clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac care procedures, diagnostic techniques, monitoring, and equipment.
- Excellent communication, teaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both academic and clinical environments.

Additional Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations.

- Perform other academic responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Department.
