We are looking for an organized and energetic Storekeeper to manage our plant's warehouse and inventory operations. In this role, you will handle the end-to-end management of raw materials (polymer resins, bio-compounds, masterbatches), printing inks, solvents, in-process materials, and finished goods (biofilms and industrial bags).
Your primary focus will be maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper storage conditions for sensitive biodegradable materials, and facilitating seamless material issuance to the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Receipt & Inspection: Receive incoming raw materials (LLDPE, LDPE, PLA/PBAT bio-resins, masterbatches, inks, solvents, and packing cores). Verify physical quantities against Purchase Orders (PO) and Delivery Challans (DC), and check for transit damage.
- Storage & Environment Management: Ensure materials are stored systematically using appropriate material handling equipment. Crucially, manage the specific temperature and moisture-controlled storage requirements for sensitive biodegradable/compostable resins to prevent premature degradation.
- Inventory Control & FIFO/FEFO: Maintain strict adherence to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) and First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) principles for polymer resins, inks, and chemicals.
- Production Issuance: Smoothly issue raw materials and packing materials to the extrusion, printing, and bag-making departments based on authorized Bill of Materials (BOM) and production slips.
- ERP & Documentation: Accurately update all store transactions (Goods Receipt Note - GRN, Material Issuance Note, Material Reversion) in the ERP system (SAP, Oracle, or Tally) in real-time. Maintain physical ledger books and statutory records.
- Stock Verification & Audits: Conduct periodic cycle counts and monthly physical stock verification. Reconcile physical stock with ERP data and investigate any variances.
- Scrap & Waste Management: Systematically track, segregate, and record production scrap (extrusion lumps, trim waste, misprints) and manage its movement to recycling or disposal zones.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping (5S) and ensure safety protocols are followed, particularly regarding the handling of hazardous chemicals like printing solvents and inks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduate in any discipline (B.Com, B.Sc., or B.A.) or a Diploma in Material Management / Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven storekeeping experience specifically within a manufacturing plant—ideally in flexible packaging, plastics, or polymer processing units.
- Technical & Software Skills:
- High proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM module, Oracle, or local ERPs) and MS Excel.
- Good understanding of packaging store terminologies (e.g., polymer grades, microns, gauge, reel weights, core sizes).
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (Forklifts, Pallet trucks).
- Core Competencies: Strong mathematical and analytical skills, high physical stamina for floor monitoring, and excellent coordination skills to interface between Procurement, Quality, and Production teams.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary matching industry standards.
- A stable role within a highly structured manufacturing ecosystem.
- Opportunity to grow into a Store Manager or Warehouse In-charge role.
