Job description: Site Engineer – Railway Telecom (OFC)
Location: Bhubaneswar – Visakhapatnam railway section (Odisha & Andhra Pradesh)
Key responsibilities
* Supervise railway telecom and OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) installation work along the railway route.
* Monitor OFC cable laying, HDPE duct laying, trenching, blowing, splicing, and termination.
* Coordinate with Railway officials (RailTel / RVNL / East Coast Railway) and project managers.
* Ensure execution of telecom works according to railway specifications and approved drawings.
* Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), material records, and site documentation.
* Supervise contractors, labor teams, and subcontractors at multiple locations.
* Conduct route surveys, cable route marking, and joint inspections.
* Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and timely completion of work.
* Coordinate testing and commissioning of OFC and telecom equipment.
* Attend site meetings and resolve execution-related issues.
Required skills
* Basic knowledge of OFC cable laying and telecom infrastructure.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and cable route diagrams.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and report preparation.
* Willingness to travel and stay at railway project sites.
Qualification
* B.Tech / Diploma in ECE, EEE, CSE, IT, or related engineering field.
* Freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in telecom, OFC, railway S&T, or infrastructure projects can apply.
Salary
* ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month (fresher to junior level), depending on the contractor and project location.
