Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The SAP Technical Architect Digital Platforms is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on leadership across the SAP technical landscape, including ABAP development, SAP BTP, integrations, extensions, and modern programming platforms.
The role ensures that SAP systems are scalable, secure, future-ready, and aligned with the organization’s digital transformation roadmap.
This position acts as the technical authority for SAP core and cloud platforms, driving innovation, modernization, and high-quality delivery across SAP and non-SAP integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP Technical Architecture Leadership
- Own the overall SAP technical architecture, including S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and integration platforms.
- Act as the technical authority for ABAP, RAP, CDS, OData, Fiori, and SAP extensibility approaches.
- Define and govern development standards, architecture principles, and best practices.
- ABAP and Development Excellence
- Provide deep technical leadership in ABAP (OO ABAP, CDS views, AMDP, RAP, Enhancements, Workflow, Forms).
- Review complex developments and ensure performance, security, and scalability.
- Drive modernization from classic ABAP to clean core, side-by-side, and cloud‑ready architectures.
- SAP BTP and Emerging Technologies
- Lead adoption and utilization of SAP BTP services including - Extension Suite, Integration Suite, Workflow, Business Rules, and Event Mesh.
- Evaluate and implement emerging SAP and non-SAP technologies to support business innovation.
- Enable low-code / no-code and pro-code development models where applicable.
- Operations, Security and Governance
- Lead and mentor teams of SAP technical architects, ABAP developers, and integration specialists.
- Build future-ready technical capabilities within internal teams.
