We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution and delivery of large-scale solar EPC projects while ensuring safety, quality, timelines, and profitability.
Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for the complete execution of Solar EPC projects from project handover to commissioning and final closure. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in C&I Rooftop, Ground Mounted, and MW-scale Solar Projects, with expertise in project planning, execution, resource management, government approvals, vendor coordination, and client management.
The candidate should have successfully managed multiple solar projects across India and possess strong leadership and operational management skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of Solar EPC projects across India.
- Manage C&I Rooftop, Ground Mounted, Utility-Scale, Captive, Group Captive, Open Access, and PPA projects.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per contractual commitments.
- Coordinate project kick-off meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking.
Site Execution & Operations
- Supervise complete site execution activities.
- Monitor civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical works.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate installation of:
- Solar PV Modules
- Inverters
- Mounting Structures
- SCADA Systems
- HT/LT Electrical Systems
- Transformers
- Switchyard Equipment
- Transmission Lines
- Conduct daily and weekly project review meetings.
- Resolve site execution challenges proactively.
Liaison & Statutory Approvals
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, Electrical Inspectorate, CEIG, SLDC, STU, CTU, and government departments.
- Manage approvals related to:
- Net Metering
- Open Access
- Grid Connectivity
- Energization
- CEIG Inspection
- Electrical Safety Compliance
- Synchronization
- Ensure statutory documentation and regulatory compliance.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage EPC subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Monitor contractor productivity, quality, and safety performance.
- Review invoices and certify work completion.
- Resolve vendor-related issues and contractual matters.
Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
- Provide regular progress reports to clients.
- Conduct project review meetings.
- Manage client expectations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Support commercial discussions related to project variations and change orders.
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards throughout project execution.
- Implement HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company SOPs.
- Minimize rework through quality control measures.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Monitor project budgets and optimize resource utilization.
- Control project costs without compromising quality.
- Track project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare MIS reports and project financial updates.
Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including:
- Site Engineers
- Electrical Engineers
- Civil Engineers
- Project Coordinators
- Safety Officers
- QA/QC Engineers
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Mentor and develop project team members.
Commissioning & Project Handover
- Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Ensure successful grid synchronization and performance testing.
- Complete punch-list activities.
- Prepare as-built drawings and project closure documentation.
- Handover completed projects to the Operations & Maintenance team.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- PMP, Prince2, or Project Management Certification is preferred.
- MBA in Operations or Project Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Solar EPC Project Execution.
