A crane operator is responsible for safely operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment in construction, manufacturing, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Crane operators operate various types of cranes, including mobile, tower, overhead, and boom trucks, to transport heavy loads at construction or industrial sites.
- Operating cranes safely to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Setting up and inspecting cranes before use, including extending outriggers, placing blocks, and checking mechanical components.
- Monitoring crane capacity and movement, coordinating with ground crews via hand signals or radios to ensure safe handling.
- Performing routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor mechanical repairs.
- Assembling or disassembling crane components, including bolting boom sections for transport or modification.
- Maintaining documentation, including job tickets, inspection logs, and service summaries.
- High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
- Certification is mandatory for crane operation, often through recognized programs such as the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) or vocational training.
- Ability to communicate effectively with ground crews using hand signals or radios.
Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
