Role Overview
We are seeking a Psychologist to support children undergoing speech and occupational therapy by addressing behavioral, emotional, and attention-related challenges that impact therapy outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist speech and occupational therapists in managing children’s behavior during sessions
- Improve attention, sitting tolerance, and task engagement in therapy
- Implement behavior modification strategies for children with Autism, ADHD, and developmental delays
- Provide pre-therapy readiness training (eye contact, imitation, listening skills)
- Support sensory regulation strategies in coordination with occupational therapists
- Conduct basic behavioral assessments and track progress
- Guide parents on home programs to reinforce therapy goals
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and treatment planning
- Help in group therapy sessions (social skills, sharing, turn-taking)
Qualifications
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Psychology (Clinical / Counseling / Child Psychology)
- Experience with pediatric or special needs population would be an added advantage
Skills Required
- Understanding of behavior management techniques
- Ability to work in a team with SLPs and OTs
- Patience and child-friendly approach
- Good observation and documentation skills
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
- Knowledge of ABA principles or behavior therapy
- Experience in autism early intervention
- Basic understanding of sensory processing and communication difficulties
