We looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the organization's accounting operations, statutory compliance, taxation, financial reporting, banking activities, and internal financial controls. The incumbent will ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards and Indian statutory laws while supporting management in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting
- Maintain complete books of accounts in accordance with accounting principles and statutory requirements.
- Prepare Journal Vouchers, Cash Book, Bank Book, Purchase Book, Sales Book, General Ledger, and Trial Balance.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end book closing.
- Verify all accounting entries before posting.
2. Accounts Payable
- Verify vendor bills and purchase invoices.
- Process vendor payments after approval.
- Maintain vendor reconciliation statements.
- Monitor outstanding liabilities.
3. Accounts Receivable
- Monitor customer outstanding balances.
- Generate customer invoices.
- Follow-up for payment collections.
- Maintain debtor ageing reports.
4. Banking & Treasury
- Perform daily bank reconciliation.
- Manage NEFT, RTGS, IMPS and online banking transactions.
- Prepare fund flow and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate with banks for loans, overdrafts and other banking facilities.
5. GST Compliance
- Prepare and file:
- GSTR-1
- GSTR-3B
- GSTR-9
- GSTR-9C (where applicable)
- Reconcile GST Input Tax Credit.
- Resolve GST notices and departmental queries.
6. TDS Compliance
- Deduct TDS as per Income Tax Act.
- Deposit TDS within due dates.
- File quarterly TDS Returns.
- Issue Form-16 and Form-16A.
- Reconcile TDS using TRACES.
7. Income Tax Support
- Assist Chartered Accountant during Income Tax Return filing.
- Prepare schedules and financial statements.
- Maintain tax working papers.
- Gratuity Provision
- Coordinate payroll processing.
8. Inventory & Cost Control
- Verify stock valuation.
- Coordinate with Stores Department.
- Reconcile physical stock with books.
- Monitor inventory discrepancies.
9. Financial Reporting
Prepare:
- Monthly MIS
- Profit & Loss Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
- Budget vs Actual Report
- Cost Analysis
- Financial Ratio Analysis
- Management Reports
10. Audit Coordination
Coordinate with:
- Statutory Auditor
- Internal Auditor
- GST Auditor
- Tax Consultant
- Bank Auditor
Provide all required documents during audits.
11. Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
- Companies Act (where applicable)
- Income Tax Act
- GST Laws
- TDS Regulations
- MSME Compliance
- Professional Tax
- PF & ESI (where applicable)
- Other applicable financial and regulatory requirements
12. Internal Financial Controls
- Develop and maintain financial control systems.
- Prevent accounting fraud.
- Monitor financial risks.
- Ensure segregation of duties.
- Maintain documentation for all financial transactions.
13. Team Supervision
- Guide junior accountants and accounts assistants.
- Allocate daily work.
- Verify accounting accuracy.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, trading, automobile, EV industry or similar sectors preferred.
- M.Com preferred
- CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred
- Additional certifications in GST, Tally or Finance will be an advantage
