Job Description

Attend daily morning briefings with senior engineering leadership to align on operational priorities and work schedules

Plan, assign, supervise, and inspect maintenance, repair, and construction activities to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules

Manage work orders efficiently by assigning, distributing, and tracking completion status; maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance activities and equipment history

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, diagnose technical issues, and provide hands-on technical assistance to maintenance technicians

Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergency calls, equipment breakdowns, and urgent repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and major equipment systems

Generate comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting maintenance activities, work completed, outstanding tasks, and operational metrics
-
Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols, regulations, and occupational health and safety procedures; assist engineering crews during emergencies and crisis situations

Oversee manpower distribution and scheduling to optimise resource allocation and meet operational demands

Report major operational issues and concerns to the Assistant Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering in a timely and transparent manner
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
-
Minimum 1 year of professional experience as a Duty Engineer or in a similar maintenance engineering position within a hospitality.

Trade license, certification, or diploma in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or General Civil)

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Proficiency in work order management systems and maintenance planning software
-
Solid understanding of safety regulations, compliance standards, and occupational health and safety protocols
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies
-
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
-
Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work and on-call availability as required
**Preferred Qualifications:**
-
Advanced certification or specialization in Electrical, Mechanical, or General Civil trades
-
Experience in facilities management within a five-star hotel, resort, or similar premium organization
-
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
-
Leadership experience in supervising maintenance teams or coordinating cross-functional projects
-
Previous experience in emergency response and crisis management situations
