Job Title: 5th Grade Science Teacher

Job Summary
The 5th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate science instruction that helps students develop scientific knowledge, critical-thinking skills, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities. The teacher will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment and support students' academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach daily 5th-grade science lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Conduct hands-on experiments, demonstrations, projects, and science investigations.
- Teach topics such as life science, physical science, Earth and space science, and environmental science.
- Encourage students to ask questions, make observations, analyze evidence, and draw conclusions.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, assignments, projects, experiments, and classroom participation.
- Provide individualized support and differentiated instruction for students with varying learning needs.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate academic progress to parents and guardians.
- Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and well-organized classroom.
- Follow appropriate laboratory and classroom safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and school leadership.
- Participate in parent meetings, professional-development activities, and school events.
- Integrate technology and relevant educational resources into science instruction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license appropriate for elementary education.
- Strong knowledge of elementary-level science concepts and curriculum.
- Excellent classroom-management and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
- Experience working with elementary-age students is preferred.
